Somewhere (She Is So Happy)

Somewhere, she is reading a novel. I am reading opposing counsel's reply brief.

Set on the office desk between the redlines and the next call, it keeps the you who skipped law school in view all afternoon, presumably sleeping in.

Decades of billables end at the retirement lunch, where a retiring lawyer reads it as a progress report on sleeping in, on the table during the managing partner's toast.
