Short answers to the questions we get, from people buying for a lawyer and from lawyers buying for themselves. The full rules live in our Shipping Policy, Return Policy and Terms of Sale.
The store
Are you a law firm?
It's a store, not a law firm. See "Is this legal advice?" below.
Who makes the goods?
Our production partners, which are third-party print-on-demand companies. Each item is made for your order, after you place it: printed, embroidered, engraved, knitted or sewn, depending on the item.
Nothing gets made until someone orders it. That is how we can offer a version for every state and every federal circuit without a back room full of hats. It also means your order takes a little time; see the next question.
Shipping
When will my order ship?
Within 15 business days after the day you place it. That is our maximum; many orders ship sooner. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays, and "ships" means handed to the carrier. We'll email you tracking details when that happens.
How long delivery takes after that depends on the carrier and your address. Any delivery estimate shown at checkout or in your shipping email is the carrier's estimate, not a guarantee. If it's for a date, a swearing in or the holidays, order early.
What if my order is running late?
If we can't ship within 15 business days, we'll email you before that deadline. The email will give a new ship date, or tell you we can't give one, and let you choose between waiting and cancelling for a full refund. If you don't reply, we'll keep your order and ship it as soon as we can. You can cancel a delayed order at any time before it ships, at no cost, by replying to that email.
There is also a hard stop: every order ships within 30 days after you place it, or we cancel it and refund everything you paid, whether or not you replied. Refunds for cancelled orders, shipping included, go out within 7 business days.
How much is shipping?
It depends on what you order and where it's going. You'll see the exact amount at checkout, before you pay.
Items in one order may be made at different facilities and arrive separately, on different days. The shipping shown at checkout is the total.
We collect sales tax where the law requires it. In some states, including New York, shipping charges are taxable when the items shipped are taxable.
Do you offer express shipping?
Not at the moment. If we offer it on an item, its charge and terms show at checkout before you pay. Express shortens only the delivery time after your order ships, not the time to make your items.
Do you ship outside the United States?
No. We ship to addresses in the 50 states and the District of Columbia, except Connecticut, and to U.S. military addresses where checkout offers a rate. We don't ship to U.S. territories or outside the United States.
My parcel hasn't arrived. What now?
If your tracking hasn't shown delivery 3 business days after the estimated delivery date, email support@attorneyproblems.com. Claims for a lost parcel must be made within 30 days after the estimated delivery date. We'll send a replacement at no charge, or refund you if we can't replace it.
If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, or because it went unclaimed, we'll email you. Reply within 14 days with the right address and pay the new shipping charge, and we'll send it again. If we don't hear from you within 14 days, we'll close the order, and because the item was made for you, it can't then be refunded. So please check your shipping address before you order.
Orders, returns and the warranty
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email support@attorneyproblems.com with your order number as soon as possible. Because each item is made for you, we can change or cancel an order only before it goes into production. If production hasn't started, we'll use reasonable efforts to make the change or cancel, and we'll refund a cancelled order in full within 7 business days.
Can I return or exchange it?
Every item is made to order for you, so we don't accept returns or exchanges for change of mind or size. If your item arrives misprinted, damaged or defective, our 30-Day Limited Warranty covers it. See our Return Policy.
Sale items follow the same rules as full-price items.
What if it arrives misprinted, damaged or defective?
Our 30-Day Limited Warranty covers items that arrive misprinted (the wrong design, or a print that is flawed, smudged or incomplete), with a manufacturing defect (a hole, a failed seam or a cracked mug, for example) or damaged in transit. It also covers orders where we sent the wrong item.
Email support@attorneyproblems.com within 30 days after delivery, with your order number and a photo that shows the problem. We review each claim in good faith and tell you the outcome by email. If it's approved, we'll replace the item with an identical one at no charge, including shipping. If we can't replace it, we'll refund what you paid for the item, including its share of shipping and tax. We usually don't need the item back; if we do, we'll send you a prepaid label, so returning it costs you nothing.
The warranty doesn't cover normal wear and tear, damage from use that goes against the care instructions on the product page, small variations in color or print placement that are normal for items made to order, or fit. The full terms are in our Return Policy.
How do refunds work?
Approved refunds go to your original payment method within 7 business days of approval. It can then take up to 10 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer. We don't give refunds in cash or as store credit, and we never charge a restocking or other fee on a refund.
You're entitled to a written copy of our refund policy on request: email support@attorneyproblems.com.
Sizes and care
How do sizes run?
Every garment that comes in sizes has a size chart on its product page, in inches. Please check it before you order: because each item is made for you, we can't exchange sizes. The easy way is to lay a shirt that already fits flat, measure it, and match it to the chart. Caps, totes and neckties are one size.
Product photos are illustrations, so colors on screen can differ slightly from the finished item, and placement can vary a little from item to item.
How do I care for it?
Where an item has care instructions, they're on its product page, under Care. Please follow them: our warranty doesn't cover damage from use that goes against the care instructions.
Gifts and firm orders
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. Put their address in as the shipping address at checkout. Our 30-Day Limited Warranty covers the original purchaser and anyone who receives the item as a gift. If something arrives misprinted, damaged or defective, we'll need the order number, so keep your confirmation email handy.
Stuck on what to get? Our Gifts for Lawyers page is sorted for exactly this problem.
Do you sell gift cards?
Not yet. Gift cards are coming. Until then, there's our Gifts for Lawyers page, and our 30-Day Limited Warranty covers anyone who receives an item as a gift.
Can my firm order in bulk?
Firm and bulk orders are coming. Until then, email support@attorneyproblems.com and tell us what you have in mind: the design, the items and roughly how many.
The fine print
Is this legal advice?
No. Merchandise only. Not legal services or legal advice; no attorney-client relationship or its protections.
That includes our emails: we can't help with legal questions.
How do I manage my privacy choices?
Use the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of every page, or turn on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which our store treats as a request to opt out.
To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or get a copy of it, email privacy@attorneyproblems.com from the email address you used with us. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any of them; order and shipping emails still come, because they're part of your purchase. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I reach you?
Email support@attorneyproblems.com, or use our contact form. Include your order number if you have one. We handle customer service by email. Privacy requests go to privacy@attorneyproblems.com.
You're buying from AttorneyProblems, a trade name of NGC 7293 Dev LLC, a New York limited liability company. Our mailing address is on our Contact Information page, and your card statement will show ATTORNEYPROBLEMS.
