My hourly rate, as my friends and family seem to understand it.
For the hours that never make it onto a timesheet: the Saturday clinic, the cousin's lease, the couch afterward. A unisex t-shirt, garment-dyed, made to order.
A new lawyer at the first firm holiday party will get it at once: two words for every hour worked for free, and most of the ones to come.
